Learn about Our Lady

Venerable Mary of Agreda was a Spanish nun and mystic who lived in the 17th century (1602-1665). She received revelations from Our Lady concerning many unknown graces of her life.

Each chapter contains descriptions of the graces of the interior life of Our Lady, and and instruction given by Our Lady herself to Venerable Mary of Agreda, her spiritual daughter, on how to imitate her virtues more perfectly.

This is a home recording of a mother reading to her children at bedtime. It is being done with permission from the translator, using the New English Edition published recently by Timothy A. Duff, available for sale on www.neemcog.com.

This work, it has been argued, is perhaps the greatest Scripture commentary ever written. It produces Divine Faith in the soul. Whoever reads or listens to it with openness of heart and not skepticism will be certain to perceive the supernatural realities which are communicated in it, and to grow spiritually in imitation of the virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary, knowing her thoughts and her ways.

This is a personal reflection on the Introductory chapter, to help souls understand and draw fruit from the reading and not to be discouraged at the high level of sanctity expressed in it.

This chapter concerns mostly the description of the interior life of Venerable Mary of Agreda in relation to the writing, publishing, and completing of this work in obedience to Our Lady, the angels, and spiritual directors. Describes her interior struggles, her fears and doubts, and the affirmation of God and the Blessed Virgin and the angels to support her and help her carry out the project despite her weakness and human inability to do such a great work.
